Families supported by the Halo Children’s Foundation got to enjoy a matchday experience when Brentford FC took on Leicester City FC last month

On Sunday the 24th of October the Trust had the pleasure of organising families supported by the Halo Children’s Foundation to attend Brentford FC’s game against Leicester City FC in what was a truly unforgettable experience. The families got the full matchday experience meeting up with Brentford’s mascots Buzz and Buzzette and sitting pitchside as the action took place.

The Halo Children’s Foundation’s main aim is to help provide support, information, guidance & hope to children of all ages and their families that are dealing with bereavement after the death of a loved one. This was a fantastic opportunity for the Trust to support another foundation that does amazing work in the community supporting families in need. The Halo Children’s Foundation provides support whilst understanding that every child is different and will respond to grief in different ways, therefore they provide a vast range of services for various needs, allowing children opportunities to express themselves and provide positive experiences and tools that equip families with ways to rebuild their lives and provide support so they do not grieve alone.

Hannah Barnett our head of Social, Education and Health Hub who helped organise the matchday experience had this to say,

“We were delighted to welcome children and families from the Halo Children’s Foundation to a match at Brentford Community Stadium last month. Sport creates a sense of togetherness, provides a shared experience and a feeling of joy (depending on the result) and we were thrilled to be able to share this with young people who would benefit from positive experiences such as these at such a difficult time. We look forward to working together with the Halo Children’s Foundation in the future.”
