We are launching new memory sessions for individuals affected by Alzheimer’s or dementia

 In News

Brentford FC and Brentford FC Community Sports Trust are working in collaboration with local home care company Home Instead Ealing to launch a new series of Memory Sessions.

The session is for individuals and relatives/carers who are affected by Alzheimer’s or Dementia. We will be talking about the importance of World Alzheimer’s Day and will be sharing some Brentford memories.

Home Instead Ealing was established in 2008, providing home care to clients including specialist dementia care. Together, we will use the power of football to facilitate a friendly discussion with Club legends on hand to look at memorabilia from the past and watch videos from the past and present.

Dr Laura Cole, a Senior Lecturer in Older People and Dementia Care. will also be there to talk to the group talking about how family and friends can provide support for those affected.

Emily Donovan our Health & Wellbeing Manager had this to say about the upcoming event “The Memory Session provide an opportunity for people who are affected by Alzheimer’s or Dementia to come together and share their experiences. We aim to have a positive impact on the well-being of those who attend, through the facilitation of reminiscence activities. We look forward to welcoming you to our brand new event space The Community Stadium Hub.”

We will have a maximum capacity of around 70 people with about ten staff and guests attending, with plenty of tea and cake served throughout.

If you or someone you know would like to attend, all you need to do is to complete this registration form.

For any questions that you may have about the event, please email supporterservices@brentfordfc.com.
