Hundreds of Young People Attend Job Fair at Gtech Community Stadium

The Trust partnered with Indeed to welcome over 600 young people to the Gtech Community Stadium earlier today (Wednesday 14 June) for a job fair.

The job fair is the continuation of the partnership between the Trust and Indeed which launched in April with the Indeed Skills Lab.

Youth unemployment in London stands at 13.5%, which is slightly below the national average (13.7%). However, the claimant count amongst 16-24 year-olds in Ealing (5.2%) and Hounslow (5.8%), which are target areas for the partnership, is higher than the national average of 5.1% for that age group.

With a wide range of industries represented, attendees had the chance to meet with employers, learn about job openings, and gain invaluable insights from professionals in their desired fields.

Sky, Thames Water, TikTok and the London Borough of Hounslow were among the 40 plus employers present on the day.

A series of workshops, talks and mock interview scenarios also gave the young people in attendance practical learning advice for future job applications.

Hannah Barnett, head of social, education and health hub at Brentford FC Community Sports Trust, said: “We are delighted to be working with Indeed to provide real opportunities for local young people and today’s job fair is a huge part of this.

“We hope that the young people in attendance today left feeling inspired, motivated, and armed with the tools needed to take the next step seeking future training or employment.”
