Updated Trust statement on Coronavirus

 In News

Due to the English Football League’s (EFL) decision to postpone all EFL matches until 3 April at the earliest, Brentford FC Community Sports Trust is making some changes to its community activities.

Griffin Park Learning Zone, based at Griffin Park, will postpone all community activities until we receive further guidance from the EFL, English Football League Trust and Brentford FC. This is based on the EFL’s recommendation of ceasing all community activity at football stadiums and training grounds.  Participants and staff involved in these projects have been informed and the Senior Leadership Team are exploring other options relating to community projects at Griffin Park Learning Zone.

The wellbeing of our participants remains our top priority. Therefore, we will also be postponing any community activity that involves participants who have underlying health conditions or those who are deemed at risk.

These sessions also include our Short Breaks project (community based) for children with disabilities and our Young Carers project in Ealing and Hounslow.

Under instruction from the EFL, we have also postponed all National Football Youth League and Community Education Football Alliance (CEFA) matches until further notice. These matches relate to our post-16 education programme.

If you’re wondering whether a session that you usually take part in has been cancelled, please email us at enquiries@brentfordfccst.com

With Brentford’s match against West Brom postponed on Tuesday 17 March, all community-related activity on a matchday has inevitably been cancelled, which includes all Mascot and Guard of Honour packages. These packages will remain valid for the rearranged fixtures and further details will be available in due course.

Based on the government’s advice and recommendations, we are still running all other community activities as normal. The Senior Leadership Team will monitor the situation on a daily basis, and we recommend you check our website regularly for updates.

If you have any concerns regarding this update, please contact us at enquiries@brentfordfccst.com
