 In News

Ben Mee and Karen Abou-Abdallah have been awarded the PFA’s Community Champion, for their ongoing support of the local community throughout the 2022/23 season.

Karen has shown a huge commitment to supporting Brentford FC Community Sport Trust’s work this season, spending a significant amount of time meeting participants and engaging with children and aspiring footballers at our sessions.

Since August Karen has engaged with inmates at HMP Bronzefield as part of the Twinning Project, participated in the Trust’s celebrations acknowledging the 30th anniversary of the Premier League and attended several schools and football based programmes to offer support and advice to the next generation of aspiring female footballers.

Passionate about community engagement and promoting a sustainable legacy at Brentford, Ben championed our Planet League campaign and has always provided his support for the work the Trust are doing across west London and beyond.

Ben said, “Community is at the heart of everything Brentford do and I’m pleased to have played a part in that this season. We all have a part to play in our community, whether it be environmentally or socially.”

The pair were presented with their awards at the Robert Rowan Performance Centre by staff from the Trust.
